This is a guest post from Zara Lynch of the Ministry of Economic Development, as the Digital Strategy aligns closely with our own work.
Hi there, Zara here from the Digital Development Team at the Ministry of Economic Development.
The Draft Digital Strategy 2.0 was released for public comment on Monday 14 April. It is a key step in the refresh of the 2005 Digital Strategy with a final updated Digital Strategy 2.0 expected to be released mid year. The refresh discussion began at the end of last year with a series of workshops and the Digital Future Summit 2.0
The Draft Digital Strategy 2.0 is about taking the next step into New Zealand’s digital future. The digital environment is rapidly changing, and it is now timely to review where we have come from and where we are going as a nation, so that New Zealand can achieve its digital potential.
It is time to think differently and collectively about the kinds of community, environmental and economic outcomes New Zealand wants from the use of digital technology in the future, and how they can be achieved.
We need your ideas to complete the picture on how we can all contribute to New Zealand achieving its digital potential.
We’ve tried to keep the draft to a short and snappy light read and because it’s the digital strategy we are encouraging submissions online - through the wiki and blog-like discussions on the digital strategy website.
So have a read and have your say. Make it quick though as submissions close at 5.00pm, Monday 12 May.
